Experience
I earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in History. My most intensive experience as a teacher was home schooling my four children as we traveled around the world for a job I held. We spent time living in seven different countries and visited many more. The time away was great for bonding and experiencing other cultures, but our family is happy to be home. I have also spent time in Indiana teaching at a high school for gifted children. The subjects I taught there were Personal Finance, Economics, Geography, History, and Algebra. I also have experience tutoring subjects across the English and Math spectrums. Math is my favorite field to teach in because I believe it is where a great teacher can have the biggest impact. Students are often simply overwhelmed by how complex the material looks and can greatly improve with simplification from their tutor. I am also comfortable helping students as they prepare for standardized tests, like the SAT, PSAT, and AP exams. I think that in school, as in life, we should always be making a concerted effort to make the experience fun. In my free time, I enjoy chess, tennis, golf, and trivia.
